Warning! This is not the same short as Russell sold last year. Very satisfied with the Russell Athletic Men's Cotton Baseline Short I purchased last year. Excellent lounge short. It was cotton with a nice fell and substantial knit. Purchased again this year. They have engineered out some costs and it is an inferior short. This short is now comparable to the one sold by Fruit of the Loom. It is a less substantial knit, clingy and the waistband is not as well made.Always frustrating when you find a great product which is a good value and when you go to buy it again, it has changed.

I prefer a fabric that has some cotton versus all polyester. These have the perfect blend for my tastes. I opted for the XL size and I wear a 36 inch waist jean. They are somewhat large still even after being washed, but still comfortable. I think if I would have gotten a LG they would be a bit snug now and I like mine on the loose side. The length is about right for me too, so overall, I like the fit, material and comfort of these shorts.I generally like the Russell Athletic brand and these do not disappoint - at a very good price point.

Bought a pair of the Black Heather in a Medium. Order placed June 11th, product received June 17th. I am 5'6" with a 34" waist. These fit perfectly (not too tight, not too loose--just right) at the waist and are very comfortable, baggy shorts I plan to wear knocking around the house in the summer and for sleeping. They come down to the top of my kneecaps, which is a couple of inches longer than is shown on the model, but this doesn't bother me at all. Construction appears sturdy, with the 1.25" waistband sewn tightly at the top and it looks like double sewn stitching at the bottom for even sturdier and longer-lasting wear. The two pockets are large and deep. A great pair of shorts and highly recommended.

Light weight like a basic T-shirt. Not too heavy and not too light. Not see through as some claim. No holes as some others claim. Single loop stretch tie cord which when stretched out becomes too long and annoying. A branded label on the right pocket with 9" seams. Standard surge locked seams and hems. Made of a basic stretch weave. Comfortable and very relaxed for jogging without trapping heat for simply lounging around the home.I normally wear XXL, but I found some brands make their XXL a bit too tight and not enough give, so I decided to go one size up for more room. Oops. Too big almost. They stay on and don't fall off thankfully and the single loop stretch cord is hard to get a good knot because it stretches.On the grey pair I cut the loop to be like shoe laces and tied each cut ends to keep it from fraying. I can now tie them easily. No digging for knots as one reviewer who obviously can't dress themselves. Even as a single loop, all you do is do a single loop knot and the FREE end is what you pull to undo them. No knot digging out of tiny holes. ...smh...I bought the Heather Blue grey and the black version. The HBG version is lighter in weight and like a cheap thin polyester T-shirt. The black one is much heavier but not heavy like a Heavy weighted cotton T-shirt. More like a regular or casual weight T-shirt. The HBG weight is like an undershirt in weight. And the Black is a more sturdy yet not too heavy weave material.

So i'm sitting here reading the reviews of these shorts laughing. I mean, one star for an $8 pair of shorts? lol and all these people explaining how "when they bought these same shorts 8 years ago blah blah blah ohh how they've changed" are you serious?Look, they are simple, cotton blend workout, sleep, lounge around, yard work type of shorts. They fit fine (and I should know... I'm 6'5 and 200 lbs and have dealt with ill fitting clothing and shoes for an entire lifetime). I mean, I can't speak for people who were sent the wrong item by mistake or something, yea thats frustrating, but my shorts fit exactly (actually a little better than expected) as I anticipated they would.And I reiterate.... they are an $8 pair of shorts.
